A devotee, willing to sit for meditation, thinks about his good and bad qualities and becomes compassionately detached. On the one hand, he is gaining knowledge, super consciousness, love for God, detachment, control of the five senses, control of the heart, and is filled with a strong desire for God realization. He struggles to exist with soul awareness and to acquire divine perception. These are the positive ‘spiritual’ soldiers that will bring light and knowledge.
On the other hand, there is a strong tendency towards anger, passion, greed, avarice, delusion ego, pride, vanity, drowsiness, doubt, idleness, procrastination, madness, fear, whims, malice, and suspicion within every human being. These are the ‘negative’ soldiers that will sweep us into the darkness of ignorance.
In Truth, the battle is between knowledge and ignorance. Undoubtedly the guru, (the soul), will point out ignorance, which is darkness and causes great suffering in life. Knowledge gives light, bringing with it peace, joy and bliss.
