A Tribute...

We all are loving children of our beloved Gurudev. We all have many direct and indirect experiences of Gurudev's love and divine care. We always feel well protected under his divine guidance. We all have seen Gurudev in different stages and how he showers his love, compassion and wisdom on each one of us unconditionally.

The greatest tribute we can offer him is proof of having absorbed and understood his teachings, and the sincere effort to emulate his worthy example. We are fortunate to have his guidance, his strength and his blessings on the path to spirituality. No words can describe the tremendous spiritual growth his presence and teaching have bestowed on us.

Let us recollect some of Baba's words and pay our tributes to the great master who was and will continue to be the guiding light of our lives.

Devotion

The essential factor for self-realization is extreme devotion. In the Bhagavad Gita it is said,
Purusha sa para partha bhaktyalabhasvananyaya
The eternal Supreme person is realized through unflinching devotion.

What is devotion? Devotion is the foundation for spiritual progress. bhakti paranurakti ishvare - devotion can be obtained by unwavering attachment to the Lord. People are attached to the objects of the senses but one should practice perceiving the presence of god in all objects. This is the real attachment to the Lord or true devotion. Implicit faith in the words of the Master is the foremost requirement for devotion. Inquiry into the nature of one's owns self is another aspect of devotion. Emotion is not devotion. Devotion brings proper understanding and stability. Devotion is superior to karma (action) and jnana (knowledge) as devotion brings constant association with the Supreme self. If one wants liberation and realization, then one must try to love God from the core of the heart. God is life and God is breath. During every breath one must maintain deep devotion to God.Ask your conscience: "Who are you?" if you don't ask your conscience, if you don't remain alert there, then you cannot progress.

Balashram Himalaya Trek

The Himalaya is the center of spirituality, meditation, and natural beauty since time immemorial. The source of the Ganga and its valley are considered holy, auspicious, and good for meditation. The natural beauty of the snow-peaked hilltops, green forests, and waterfalls are a breath-taking experience for lovers of nature. Trekking in the Himalayas in itself is a spiritual experience.

Trekkers will share the divine company of Paramahamsa Prajnanananda, Swami Mangalananda and Rajarshi Peter Baba. It will be an opportunity of a lifetime, and a most memorable event for all who participate.
