Centenary Closing Ceremony

May 24th - 29th, 2007

The much anticipated concluding ceremony of the Centenary Celebrations was indeed a dream come true. The event was memorable and was given extensive coverage by the press who acclaimed it as one of the grandest celebrations that Orissa ever has seen.

The inauguration of the program included the presence of many spiritual luminaries from across India.

Programs each day included prayer, meditation and spiritual discourses. On May 27th a special gurupaduka puja was performed with the recitation of Vedic hymns.

The daily evening public programs consisted of devotional music, Mahasatsang by the saints, and cultural programs.

Interfaith Conference

May 26th, 2007

An Inter- Faith conference was held in the Stadium on May 26th as a commemoration of Gurudev's love of all religions and to explore the holy teachings advocated by the different faiths of India. Several eminent dignitaries representing various faiths and disciplines of the spiritual path assembled on a single platform. Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Christian and Bahai leaders shared their views on the theme – "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – The Entire Earth is one family" and enlightened the audience.

Yogacharya Conference

Many Yogacharya of the lineage attended the closing ceremony from all over the world. An highlight of the program was certainly the conference of the beloved Yogacharyas with Paramahamsaji and other Swamijis.

Bhajan Sandhya and Cultural Programs

The Bhajan Sandhya that followed was a spiritual feast of devotional songs in Oriya, Hindi, Bengali and Sanskrit by famous artists like Prafula Kar, Anuradha Podwal Suchitra Mohapatra and Ajay Chakrabarty.

The highlight of the program was the variety entertainment by the children of our Hariharananda Balashram (classes 1 and 2) who enticed the audience with their songs, dance and drama.

Guru Paduka Puja

May 27th, 2007

On the 27th of May – the actual birthday of Gurudev, a gurupaduka puja was performed at the Indoor stadium. The sandals of Gurudev were washed and worshipped according to tradition with Vedic chanting followed by the recitation of the 108 names.

New Book Releases

Several books, booklets, souvenirs and CDs were released each day in – Oriya, Hindi, Bengali and English. Special release was the complete works of Gurudev – a set of 10 volumes in English

The Birth Centenary Celebrations of Paramahamsa Hariharanandaji comes to an end. The grand celebrations for one full year, in more than 100 cities across the world, has been an amazing story of two great masters - the story of the life and teachings of one of the greatest Kriya Yogis of all times - Paramahamsa Hariharananda, and story of Guru Bhakti, Love and Dedication of his beloved and divine successor Paramahamsa Prajnanananda. May the Divine Masters shower their grace and blessings on all spiritual aspirants across the world.
